Think you're finished? Print out this checklist and use it to make sure you've completed every step. If you need more information, simply click on any link.

  1. Decide on a class of mail.
  2. Create your mailpiece.
  3. Get an address list.
  4. Check the accuracy of your address list.
  5. Address your mail.
  6. Choose a postage payment method.
  7. Get a mailing permit.
  8. Pay an annual mailing fee.
  9. Get supplies.
  10. Sort your mail.
    1. Prepare the containers (trays and sacks).
    2. Fill out a postage statement.
    3. Go to the Post Office.
